I'm on hols in France and the passenger window on my 1964 Alvis has come of the runner inside the door. If I could just get in there I think I could lift it back on but have no idea how to take the the panel off the inside of the door. I have tried unscrewing everything I can see but nothing releases the panel.

Any suggestions?

where are you? i might be right by you? think you'll find its just on poppers / press fittings, good pull if you've removed ALL screws.

Doubt it... I'm in Southern Corsica!

I'm not sure clips and poppers were in use in thev 60's...

You'll possibly find the card slides backwards, forwards or up and then lifts off. If it's been a while, the clips may be corroded, and it'll take a bit of effort to shift it though.

Sorted!

There's a sort of spring mechanism on the bush bit of the handles that you push back towards the door. That reveals a little metal 'spike' that pokes through the square bits and keeps the handles from coming off. With the handles off, and lots of screws undone, I managed to sort it out temporarily. Thank goodness for Liber-T boxes as I daren't lower the window for tolls now!

I'll get someone to look at it back in Switzerland.

Incidentally, talking of the riviera, I'll be coming into Nice and driving to Cannes next Sunday - and cruising the croisette on Monday! Then driving back home to Zurich in the afternoon if anyone fancies joining in...

Oh, and integrales would be PERFECT for Corsica!
