A short lunchtime amble turned up something interesting amongst the new motors today, slightly away from the Bristol Cars stand was this:

(Apologies for Nokia's finest camera efforts!)

Ok, so it's a Bristol, with a low aero screen and streamlined body, but rather than spending a while sifting Google, thought I'd post it up to find out if anyone knows what it is and whether it's just a one off toy, or something more serious and Bonneville related for instance!

Aside from the Bristol, this recently restored treat caught my eye:

...as did the £340K price tag!

I believe it is the Bullet, a one-off development car from sometime around the late fifties / early sixties. The body is similar to the 405 drophead, but only a two-seater and it has a Chrysler V8 engine (before it was being used in the 407 I think) and a manual gearbox. Bristol boss Toby Silverton has kept the car in the USA from some time, using it on rallies and such like, but it is now back over here and has just been repainted and I hear now has a four-speed instead of three-speed manual gearbox. It was on the Bristol Owners' Club stand at the NEC classic car show last year, wearing its previous light brownish paint. It was also the inspiration for the Blenheim Speedster that was announced a few years ago and is still offered by Bristols today. The new version has flared arches for the wider track of the Blenheim, and runs the complete drivetrain of the saloon with its auto box.

Sounds like that's it, excellent stuff, thanks.
