1800 mowog 2 loch find
Discussion
well there is a old car down a bank and sat in about a foot of water. not much is left of it now. but a couple of bits. i just wanted to know what kind of car it once was. the engine is still there. there are lots of old cars in the lochs near me as i have been told. old post van, an old motorbike and lots of old cars. there was a sporty car droped in at one point. thats all i really know as the old man that told me all this cant remember what they all were.
MoWoG was cast or stamped on most parts made by Morris/Wolseley/MG i.e. the Nuffield Group belonging to William Morris/Lord Nuffield. If it says 1800 MOWOG then it's almost certainly an 1800 cc engine block and these came into use in the 60's so depending on the shape and size of the car it could be anything from an MGB to a Morris 1800. That should be enough for you to do a bit of Internet exploring

Indeed I thought that too, having spent all my youth working on engines with MoWoG stamped on them but because of this thread I did a bit of Googling and it seems there was never a Morris/Wolseley Group and of course it was Morris Garages which became MG not Wolseley Garages so it was probably MOrris WOlseley and mG.
