Hi everyone,

I own a 1990 opel vectra (Vauxhall Cavalier), thus model A
it's a straight 4, 1400cc.
(see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opel_Vectra)

Now I'm wanting a bit more grunt, so I was thinking of a replacement camshaft and a pair of dubbel carburettors...
I'm a quite experienced tuner (and have a large choice of personal carburettors), still I search:

  • camshafts
  • intake manifold (header)
  • ...
thanks a lot,
regards,
p

I'd go for a simpler list:

  • Engine
Find something higher up the range and grab the engine, etc out.

I like that idea, thought about myself, but...
As I live in belgium... where the police rule... we don't have a nice SVA system, so that makes it impossible to legalise such an conversion...
So doing 'mot' would be hard and if something happens I would be not insured...

Therefore, engine tuning is a bit of a black hole in the legislation.

Thanks anyway!

Move? wink

I don't know anything specific to that engine but most engines benefit from a bit of head work and stock exhaust manifolds tends to be built to a price rather than for performance so a tubular manifold with equal length headers will gain a few BHP.
