I need to get the front calipers (ATE) off my Mercedes 280sl W113 refurbished. Can anyone recommend a place I should send them to?

The guys at Phoenix Motorsport in Camberley Surrey do great work on rebuilding calipers and they can also powdercoat in any colour!!!

Try J&L in Rochdale. The work they've done for me in the past has been great

I've used Bigg Red too without issue - and a hell of a lot cheaper than parts specialists want for a reconditioned calliper!

EBC sell reconditioned calipers that are good quality galvenised items. I bought 2 front calipers for my BMW e28 for £150 the pair inc delivery and they didn't want my old ones either.

Thanks for the tips guys; I did call EBC/Brakes4u but they only had pads for this car. So I have sent my calipers off to BiggRed. J&L looked pricey just looking at their site, though I may be wrong. I'll post back my results.

Here are the results; it took them a little longer than I would have liked (just over 2 weeks), but I am happy with the result. I specified an electroplate finish (which I think added a week), so my hope is that it won't flake off after a few months like paint would. Cost: £ 140.00 incl postage. Thanks again for the suggestion.
