My car has 'West of England' 100% wool headlining which is an little grubby from age and an couple of minor water stains. I have asked elsewhere for info on how best to clean the material without damage to it. Had a few replies and one of those mentioned PANCRASOL should be used. Has anyone tried this product? Any other recommendations please.

No experience myself, but the people at Woolies Trim might be worth a call for some info?

Thanks for comment, tried Woolies website and they do not sell any cleaners for wool products unfortunately.

I have no experience of cleaning WoE cloth, but "Groom" (available in Halfords etc.) is extraordinarily good at removing stains from cloth and carpets. It's a foaming cleaner which comes in a spray-on aerosol. I've tried many cloth cleaners on cars and domestic fabrics over the years and there's nothing to touch this in my experience.

As ever, I'd be inclined to try a small area before committing to the whole job, but at £5 or so for a can, it's got to be worth a try. I find the best results come from gently agitating the foam with a small nail brush and then wiping/dabbing over the dampened area with a clean cloth.

The best stuff i have used for Upholstery etc etc was called "Decosol" . An Orange Liquid, with quite a pleasant smell , applied neat or diluted , It was a brilliant cleaner , but havnt seen it for some years now . Was absolutely fab at cleaning vinle as well . I used to Valet cars and this was far the best .

Thanks guys for your suggestions, I have used Decosol in the past and agree its great stuff, but not so sure its OK on wool. I am looking into the foam cleaner and may give it a go(in an small area).
