I do not wish to be rude, but this subject has cropped up a few times before and frankly people have had a job to give magazines away, let alone sell them. Just look at this photo:-

Here I have Autocar from 1956 to 1973 and Motor Sport from 1957 to 1977. I could have had more but the car was groaning under the weight and there was no more room - even in an estate. As you'll see, all are nice wrapped and mostly in perfect condition and the price was just the diesel to go and get them. In some I've found original sales brochures like the 1956 Lotus 11 one for example which is probably worth a fiver at least. But the person concerned had tried to sell the collection with no success but finally offered them to me free as a reference library. I am now having to construct a load of shelves to file them.

Edit: I was curious so searched and found that the last Lotus X1 brochure sold for £100 at H&H. In effect, the gentleman has paid me £100 to get rid of the magazines, let alone what else I might find in the collection. I wish you luck, but.........

Do you have Motor Sport Jan to May 1969 ? My Late Fathers Healey 3000 is in the Performance Cars Advert near the back of one of those issues .

If you are involved in the classic world, then these things happen. One offer I had last week rather took my breath away. Would I like the 1955 Le Mans official poster? Now that is worth rather serious money (sadly due to the accident) but some people recognise passion and like to give things to people who care rather than sell them. Hence I was contacted by this fellow in Buckingham and given the magazines. There were hundreds more but the car couldn't carry the weight. There have been people starting threads here thinking these magazines are worth a lot of money, like the belief in coronation mugs, but frankly they are mostly dead weight and hard to get rid of. Years ago when I tried to give all my copies of Motor away (1980s) I ended up dumping them. Regret it now but divorce caused drastic action! Spare parts, all kinds of things come my way including four battered old E-type spinners which are used as ash trays!

Edit: I don't consider it a "haul" but consider myself the current guardian of our heritage, just like my cars. Non of them really belong to me, I'm just looking after them until I pop my clogs. I'll enjoy all to the utmost until I go to that great circuit in the sky, that's all.

For the benefit of Mr. Kite............ Sorry, wrong line of thought, but at the request of neutral 3 here is a photo of the advert he requested for the sale of his Dad's car:-

Its good to see this atitude , I was given an original marketing brochure relating to my car recently , a refreshing change to the e bay everything atitude for it's maximum value although generic magazines have little or no re-sale value , rather than throw them away I always try and leave a few at doctor's surgeries , MOT station waiting romms and the like , try and pass the interest on so to speak.
