If you have the reg number, run it through the DVLA checker, if it's a kit, it will show up as the donor car, eg Jaguar or whatever. Obviously Allard if it's real.
I couldn't tell from the pic, but then, I don't know Allards.
Thanks, but its in Ontario, Canada, so reg number would not help. I think I will drop by and ask them.I couldn't tell from the pic, but then, I don't know Allards.

I couldn't tell you, but I think this is a real one.
Looked a real handful on a drying track.
Yes that's definately a real one. Sydney Allards own car as entered by him in the 1951 Mille Miglia. I had chance to buy it for 75k a few years ago. Four or five years later it sold for £200+k ! It was originally green.Looked a real handful on a drying track.
Ronan, I am also in Toronto, is this in a private garage, or a business?
Is it one of these?

Several things suggest to me that it is a replica; the riveting of the fly screens looks all wrong and it seems to be sitting on radial tyres, which a purist would not usually do. But, as for me I don't think I've ever seen a LHD J2? I've searched the net and every one is RHD. Stand to be corrected of course.

They did make LHD J2's for the U.S. These were usually shipped over without engines or gearbox allowing the americans to fit the powerful cadillac V8's or similar. Due to import restrictions the U.K. models had to make do with the V8 side-valve ford.wibble cb said:

Any feedback OP?
Just to nail my colours to the mast, radial tyres aside, there's something about it which says to me that it's real. I stand to be corrected if wrong...

Are they definitely Radials? The spare is for sure, but the one fitted look curiously like cross ply's to me?Just to nail my colours to the mast, radial tyres aside, there's something about it which says to me that it's real. I stand to be corrected if wrong...
