Hi,

my Midget 1500 competition car has broken a diff with me and another with the previous owner and twisted several driveshafts as well. I carry a spare dirveshaft and diff though I'm not sure I'd ever want to change the diff in the feild.

I can get replacement stronger drivesafts from Frontline but my view is that this will just make the diff even more likely to fail. However, I'm not allowed LSD for the events I run in.

Does anybody know where I can get a stronger open diff that uses the original casings or anything I can do to strengthen it?

Thanks

Try Dana uk. They build the diffs for jaguar and aston. Not to say they would repair yours, but they may be able to suggest a supplier. The 1500 was always half shaft happy. I`ve lost count the number I`ve changed on standard carsA when relatively new. The crownwheel/pinion should be fine. They generally shred off the end of the shaft just inside the sun gear( diff end).Worse if earlier or moggy half shafts are used. The 1500 should be a beefer shaft.
