Jim Clarke MK1 Lotus ? Cortina On Bob Sleigh Run
Discussion
Haveing just watched the Amazeing Ford Heritage Film of Hannu Mikala and Bjorn Waldegard in their Escorts on the ice has got me thinking about a great Photo i saw some years ago in one of the classic car mags of one of my boyhood heros the Late Great JIM CLARK going full pelt in i beleive one of the frst Mk1 Lotus Cortinas down a bob sleigh run .
It may have been staged as a publicity stunt for the launch of the first Lotus Cortina ? I would love to see this photo again and know more about the time and place , any ideas anyone ?

This one? nice article about it too.

Just read it and I'm quite surprised to learn he drove down the track faster than the olpympic champion managed on a bobsleigh. Like to see someone try that in a Focus RS...

Thats the ONE ! Thank you for finding it , the photo i saw was i think taken from another angle , but it must be the same time and place . Not sure if he is driveing a Lotus or a standard Cortina , but i would loved to have seen this take place, wondering now if a car has since been driven down the same run . If only Jim Clark was still with us .
