Acting on his behalf, Dutch dealer Jack Braam Ruben said: "Anyone can buy a restored Brescia [Bugatti]… To us it is the ultimate sculpture, an automotive Dali or Monet, created by the world's most fabulous automobile creator and completed by the greatest creator of all, mother nature."

The unique artefact will be displayed and preserved in all its glorious dereliction.
Pretentious bks; it's a rusty old car.

The Telegraph said:
Since the Bugatti broke the surface of Lake Maggiore in 2009 it has been making waves in another way – it has emerged that a car in a Japanese collection bears the identical chassis number.

Clearly someone has some explaining to do.

Interesting about the same chassi numbers. In the 80s, when the values really took off, one journo visited a very well known restoration company, and founf three Type 35 chassis waiting to be built into cars. When asked how you find three, the reply was:

The first third of this one if original, the second third of this one is original, and the last third of this one is original....

Illegal and immoral, but in the 80s they could just about get away with is- one car to the US, one to Japan, the other to Europe and the owners would never know.

But with the internet and information, you cant do this these days without being known (and of course there's the famous Bentley which went to court, and the two identical chassis numbered D-types entered into the same race in the early 90s...)

Obviously more money than sense.
Looks like the removal of the car was staged for this guy to buy it. This Promted a memory .I know where one of the first E types lay, buried in the footing of a workshop, erected some 40 years ago. totally complete, literally pushed straight into the hole and filled with concrete.
Any volunteers??

Answer: the new owners dog.
Question: what dug up the peugeot 205 convertible that i pushed into a large hole, and then covered in earth, in one of my former properties?
