C'mon closet experts laugh This caught my eye - is it an Alfa with Pininfarina coachwork? - See it at 3:08

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKqUJheKX9E

Following on from that I then ended up watching this and couldn't decide what he was driving- it's just out of my era

the smoking on the "forecourt" made me laugh, but I also thought about all of the video BP must have- I haven't logged onto to it yet but remembered the Shell advertisments with the two E Type's on the causeway at Holy Island where one gets stranded by the incoming tide yikes- something to do with Shell Extra makes you go further

I have no idea, but a bit of research reckons it to possibly be a Humber with custom or prototype bodywork.

It does look a bit like one of these , but not too much!

You are not the first person to ask this, and from the quick look I had, no one knows!

I reckon it's a 1947 Saoutchik bodied Delahaye 135m. Everything's right except the whiskers, which appear to have been straightened up for the film.

Yep, that bottom one looks like it. Presumably it's a factory body (and presumably it's a 135), but I've racked my brains, and I can't place it.

Have to admit, the only way I found it was with the aid of google biggrin Its a 1950 135m with Saoutchik bodywork, which would explain the differences in the details smile

Second link in the first post has Terry Thomas sitting in a car for a petrol advert.....................as you dont see much of the car it could be a challenge biggrin

Opening guess is an MGA, ruled out XK's as the car has a one piece windscreen
