Insurance Rant

why does a certain specialist classic/vintage car insurer with the letters F and J in their name a) cost so much for lay up insurance (it was only £25 more expensive to have fully comp unlimited mileage) and b) not provide homestart when it is supposed to specialise in early cars??
I don't mind paying a premium for a vintage car but at least offer a service geare towards this market rather than inflexible quotes.

I was warned about this by Carole Nash when I thought the 911 might be off road having spray work etc done for a few months... Better to leave it fully comp I guess, dont see the point in lay'd up insurance if its going to be slightly less (or in the case of mine would have cost more!?). Have you tried just reducing the mileage allowance down to a bare minimum maybe?
