Hello all,
I'm still to post my own vehicle onto P.H. but I really wanted to share some photos of my Dad's 1977 CX-2400, I always liked these cars. Sadly they seem to have all but disappeared from daily sight but still I think the original design was one of the best big saloons ever. Enjoy....

A black C6 is still a pretty cool car, IMHO!

How comfortable do those chairs look? Have you done any long distance trips in the car. Love it!

Citroen and cool are two words hardly ever used in conjunction.

however I do think these have a certain majesty and stand head and shoulders above anything else of French origin....well almost, that News reader bird and little Nicole excluded, of course wink

Ahhhh Nicole lick

My top 10 Citroens, in no particular order...

1) Light 15 - Traction Avant (in black)
2) DS - Pallas (in silver with tan leather)
3) CX - GTI-Turbo (in gold)
4) GS - Pallas (in some typical 70's shade of orange or yellow)
5) XM - Series One (in black)
6) C6 (in black)
7) SM (in metalic light green)
8) 2CV - Early model (in grey)
9) C4 WRC (Sebastian Leob/Kimi Raikkonen 2010)
10) H-Van (selling Crepes or Frites!)

That is very cool. Magic carpet ride, all that is missing is the Gauloise box of cigs, and an espresso.

Very soft, but still OK for long trips. The leg room in the rear is amazing, and it is not the streched version either.

That has bought back some great memories. My father had the same model and colour as that, fantastic. Great shape, nice amount of chrome with a modern, eccentric twist. How much do they fetch now?

Look at that! Citreon thought of everything, it's even got an electric razor for your lady passengers legs... that is a razor isn't it?;)

Cool car thoughsmile

My uncle had a CX 2.0, in white. He did a DIY clutch change. He's a brave man.

my dad had a GS Pallas in a fetching shade of bronze, I can remember that it spent more time in the dealers than out!, however a lovely car when it was working, still had a starting handle! When it was in the dealers they used to lend us the demo 2cv, us kids thought that it was great and never wanted my dad to swap back

I'd love a black CX.

A bit like Lord Vader - on wheels.

We used to have a CX2400 Safari, it replaced a GS Estate and a Dyane. Many a continental road trip was had in that car. Very comfortable ride and huge space for us three growing children. Unfortunately mounting running costs meant they traded it in for a BX diesel estate.
Best contemporary car my dad ever had. (the CX)

You often get the odd GTIturbo2 appear on ebay which my heart says yep go for it it will be fun.......

I once had a BX19 GTi 16V (MkII) until an old GP in a Volvo T-boned me & totalled it. Spun me down the road & along a stone wall at 60 mph just east of the Cheddar Gorge. GF was a little shaken, but not helped by the cop arriving & slamming the car door on her fingers! The relationship eventually went the same way as the car (well at least I got £50 for the car!) ... but both were good while they lasted. I'm married now & drive German.
