Doing a couple of projects on the 308 GTB, going to rebuild the back suspenshion, replacing all the bushes and bearings. I also hope to rebuild the window lifters as they are geting very slow and the window chanels and glass seals need replacing. I also hope to get a bit further with the midget rebuild. It would be nice to get the brakes done and dusted.I have taxed the GTB for winter and took her out on Sunday afternoon for a blast in the cold and wet.

Any body else doing any long needed jobs ?

Whilst the rears apart, would suggest you get the suspension hubs/uprights crack tested smile

If I can get to stay in the UK for more than 5 minutes I need to start putting some more rust proofing on the bottom of the car now that most of the oil leaks have been fixed.

Dismantling the dash in the VX220 to seal up the heater ducting and then taking out the heater matrix and putting in the biggest one I can fit, also need to get a hardtop before I freeze to death on the way to work in the mornings. Really should have done it in the summer when it wasnt pitch dark after work frown

Used about 2 large boxes of Dynamat Extreme in the Camaro, can't really say it did much for the noise but vibration/droning and heat coming up from transmission and exhausts were much improved.

Thanks for the tip. I've looked into several options, but not heard any real world users aaprt from their websites saying theirs is the panacea and will cure all ills/bring world peace etc etc

More track prep on the 944 for me:

I still need to slot a fire extinguisher in somewhere.
Give the engine a service and check all the rubber bits.
Finish applying the decals to finish the 'Martini Look'.
Get two new front tyres
New Battery - maybe a lightweight race type

I may send the 911 off to have the full monty (re-spray), shes not getting much use at the moment anyway, and it would be something to look forward to in the spring - rolling her out with new immaculate paint lick

Need to get a towbar fitted to the euro barge so I can tow the 944 - Im sure there will be plenty more jobs...

Good to hear everbody has plenty to do. I have so far rebuilt the window lifter on the drivers side, replaced the tracks for the glass and realigned the window. It all works a lot beter and the window speeds up and down with out any help. I have also adjusted the door catch and with the window fitting properly and the door closing a bit tighter its loads quiter. Going to start on the passenger side next.

Repainting and waxoyling the chassis on the Caterham. Any tips much appreciated!

I'd meant to get it done ages ago, in preparation for a trip down to Exeter kit car show last month and other winter hoons. In reality I haven't had the time to drive it, let alone work on it, and it's been laid up since the beginning of last month.

If the Midge passes her test drive tonight after a transmission horror occurred after Marham I may leave her on the road ...or proceed with plan A

Replace scratched screen (horrible to reach fixing bolts behind the dash)

Fit later style pedal box instead of old Mk1-2 type

Keep looking for a cheap enough type9 to replace the slightly "horrored" one in there now

And I suppose I ought to pop down to Halfords for some antifreeze, been told it gets quite chilly at night these days...

Just stripped the front suspension on the Gordon-keeble. Half way through making adjustable upper wishbones so I can get some caster in the front geometry. When these are finished I will also fit the adjustable rear trailing arms I made earlier in the year, then get all the alignment set. I've also got to try and find the source of an oil leak, I've a horrible feeling I will need to remove and re-seal the sump. Should keep me busy for a while.
