I know this is a long shot, but has anyone heard of a Mr CP Green who used to racing sports cars in the '50s (specifically a Healey Silverstone)? If by any chance the name rings a bell please PM me or reply to the thread.

Many thanks.

Yes the TNF is populated by incredibly knowledgeable people. They were of help when I was looking for further info on the actual races run by Willie Eckerslyke, a mythical racer in his day.

Cheers gents - shall head over to TNF. Coincidentally, we're trying to trace his racing history, because we believe part of it took place in this:

Yep. It's almost completely standard; not so much as a seat belt, the only thing is it would probably have had bucket seats originally and it now has a sort of bench seat that sits over the transmission tunnel. Not a difficult thing to restore to standard. Still quite sprightly too - modern warm hatch sought of performance, despite looking even older than its 1949 vintage.

Thanks again to the guys who suggested TNF, we've already learnt some new history about the car in the first few responses. It seems it's recorded in the hands of GP (not CP) Green at both Silverstone and Goodwood in the mid '50s. Would be really interesting to find out where it spent the first few years of its life, because in 1949/50 it would have been elligible for top flight international competition. It may well have just been used for club racing the in UK, but some found their way to events like Le Mans, the Targo Florio and the Mille Miglia.
