i have a mini mayfair 1989. i have just put on a new inlet and outlet manifold wide bore for a RC40 exhaust on a 1.1 engine. after fitting this when i start my mini the car revs high then goes low and then goes high again and keeps doing this. also when am driving around in it, the accelerator sticks causing it to over rev again and when i at a junction this also happens and it just over revs.

the sticking is nothing to do with the peddle i thing because it works fine when the engine off.

can someone give me some help with this thanx

Thoughts - Have you checked the throttle cable as they fray quite easy and then can stick.

Also when you fitted the carb back on, were you careful not to force it against he bulkhead, I did this when I fitted a LCB to my old Mayfair and had similiar problems. What had happend was when I re-fitted the carb I had bent the piston, so it stuck when it was rising and falling, I had to strip the carb down and replace.

No Problem. Top tip, put some tape over the end of the cable before you thread it through the bulkhead, or it will fray dead easily.
