Shame to scrap
Discussion
Hi all,
Not posted on this forum before. I have a 1984 Rover 213S, the old boxey shape. It's one of the early ones before the change to the exhaust layout. My first car and provided excellent service for 10years. Then failed its MOT around 6 years ago (no surprise) but I couldn't get a replacement door in good condition and had just bought a TVR Chimaera, which I still use daily. The Rover has been sat on my drive ever since and has deteriorated further and now must go. Can't see me getting time to fix her. Tried posting an ad on a Rover site but no response. Seems such a waste for it to go to the scrapyard, was such a reliable car. I expect these might be a retro classic one day, can't be many left now. Needs bodywork/welding to get MOT and engine could do with a strip (100k miles) so unlikely anyone interested but would even think hard to get parts might be useful to someone.
Anyone any ideas as to where best to post this sort of car or is it consigned to the scrappie ?
Matt

You could try posting it on retro rides. Someone might just yet breathe life into the old girl

My pop had a 1984 213 Vanden Plas, I've still got rose tinted spectacles about it.
Oh and serious kudos for "I couldn't get a replacement door in good condition and had just bought a TVR Chimaera". Wish I'd done something like that...
