Sutol 23

has anyone any information on these kit cars. They look like the Lotus 23. I am interested to know if they are still used for racing.

What sort of information are you after, and why?

I don't know of any still racing, but they were competitive in their day and it wouldn't surprise me if there were one or two still hillclimbing or club racing somewhere.

I've probably got some old magazine articles and maybe even a manufacturer's brochure somewhere, as I looked at buying one myself when it was in production. The fact that some of the chassis detailing is a bit agricultural put me off (for example, instead of the elegant perforated bulkhead of the original, the dashboard/steering column was supported by a couple of untriangulated vertical tubes welded to the chassis floor tubes).

The Xanthos (which is pretty much an exact replica of the original 23 chassis) was and is a much nicer job, but then it cost a lot more, too...
