Blimey Ferg that was quick, thanks for coming down I`m glad you both had a good time.Thats` my first open day but we intend to make it a regular thing. The underbonnet shot is the grey XK150 we rebuilt with all the trimmings, airo fuel injection key fob locking/ boot locking too with no visible locks. Nearly 10 years since completion. Time flies. The others are the finished Elans, built from boxes of bits, the Espirit with it`s engine build and the part finished A7 chummy with its new body .Thanks to all pistonheads who arrived and apologies if I could not speak with you all, but thanks again for your support.
OK, I know it's a total mess at the moment.
But at least I found the knurled knob from the top of the fuse box when I got home, it's just a pity the lid of the clutch reservoir got put down on it when the master cylinder fell to pieces.
The question is, when I clean up the head and re-paint it, should I go for 3.4 duck egg :-)

Morning Ken, thanks again for coming and it was good to meet so many people .
I think we had the last 2 visitors at 4.45, 1954 Land Rover and a 1935 Standard 10.Your knurled nut Ken should be black for the fuse box cover.
Ferg, I mean`t the speed at which you posted the pics, which I really appreciate, thanks to your daughter for that mate. You are right of course re the time aspect,I`ll be at goodwood with my son at the weekend.

Paul, do you know whether that is an original grey for an XK150?
It looks to be between Battleship Grey (which is darker) and Cornish Grey (lighter). Mine was originally Cornish Grey but a PO repainted it approximately Pearl Grey (lighter). They used to love greys, basically offering 5 monochrome shades.

Morning Ken, the colour is cornish slate grey, taken from an old 1960s Jaguar colour swatch from ICI. I have a guy who distributes paint and is an ex painter himself . He has a good eye f0r colour so I suppose it is about as near to the original as I could get.Incidently,I painted that and the green Elan myself!
