The price of the car + 10% DUTY
Then add the cost of insurance and the shipping cost
Now add a further 15% VAT + 75 quid Customs fees

Isn't Cyprus within the EU these days?

The price of the car, or, what Customs deem it to be worth. Its not unknown for Customs to ask for a valuation from a recognised body. This is to stop people claiming they paid 5K for a car, clearly worth a lot more.
Cyprus is now in the EU, not sure if they are full members, or just fiscal. Either way, the shipping agent should be able to advise. If they are fiscal members, you will need a document T2, to prove the goods are of EU origin, therefore, you will only pay the Vat.

South is EU nothing to pay, just handling fee's etc.. The north is a very different story !!
I can recommend an excellent shipping agent, avoid ex-pats offering shipping services.. you’ve been warned ! reply here if interested.

cheers
