I have a standard s1 Lotus Elise that i want to use as a second car for summer weekends and evenings.Unfortunately i am 40 years old, maybe that's a good thing when it comes to insurance.I have received a quote from Hagerty of £206 on a guaranteed valuation £7500 and 2000 miles NCD not taken into account has they are used on my everyday work horse a Ford Mondeo.Does anyone know of any insurance companies that could better this quote (sub £200 would be good) or should i be satisfied with what I've got? Many thanks Woody.

I'd think that's pretty decent.

I'm 58, live in the sticks, retired so the elise isn't used for commuting and my best quote last year was from the AA at £200 for a 4000 mile limit which included a "new customer" discount & a normal full NCB. I'm expecting an increase this year.

Last year that AA quote compared with £450 from Directline. If I can get another £200 quote next month I'd be delighted, I expected the car was still too new ('99) to be considered for a classic policy.
