Have you contacted Pertronix Customer support in the States?
Did the car ever run properly with the kit on?
Have you double checked that the kit was wired correctly?
Is/was there a ballast resistor?
Sorry can't give you any specific advice, I installed one of these a few months ago with no problems (apart from when I had to hit the magnet with a hammer to get it to fit over the distributor shaft)!

If the system is worthy of repair you should be able to get into the ECU via a laptop, to do the checks, eg, crank sensor/ throttle pot etc. Look at the basics first and check also the connections on the management system .Using a scope, you should be able to check the crank sensor output. If you are destined to the closed door from petronix, fit a reliable system, from another supplier where you do recieve backup.

Pertronix have just sent a wiring test doc, so will dust off the AVO and have a tinker tomorrow. If still no joy, have just costed an MSD CDI with rev limiter and Blaster coil.... eek

D'oh!

Teach me to trust what the AA say!

Feed wire was a wee bit crispy about a foot back in the loom. 12v with no load, 3 when connected...

FYI if you connect a permanant live to coil just to check spark and the car immediately fires (never did before), turning the ignition off won't stop it...

hehe

It's usually always something simple!
