Sierra power steering rack on MK4 cortina ?

The mounting points are different & the rack is a different length. Best to use the Cortina p/s rack off the 2.3. If you can find one of course!

Do the CORTINA P100 pickups have power steering fitted ? and the same as the MK4 ?

Is the bulkhead strong enough for the power steering forces? I seem to remember that when Vauxhall added PS to one of their models the bulkhead started cracking up.

Mostly a parking issue I would think.

The p100 only had a 1.6 & never had p/s fitted. Only fitted on the 2.0 as an option & same with 2.3.
XL a pattern steering rack manufacturer do a power rack for the Cortina, part number XLR123, for 1976-1980 & XLR124 for 1980-1983

Hi do you have any contact details for XL, had a google search and they where taken over by Delco, but the delco web page has no mention of steering racks.

QH (Quentin Hazel) also list steering racks >80 SRS123 & 80> SRS124 , they are not made anymore by them but may help in your quest!! 0870 8554756 is their tech helpline.

It may be worth talking to the TVR wedge owners. Mine had manual steering using the Cortina rack, so I'm guessing the PAS equipped Tasmin must have used the equivalent powered part.
