same place harsh's car was sprayed?
I'm curious, why no spray booth (by the looks of it)? It looks a bit dusty in there.
Already gone through in great detail on his threadI'm curious, why no spray booth (by the looks of it)? It looks a bit dusty in there.

Thought an update might be in order............(IF it doesn't get deleted by the powers that be For the record I'm not touting - we're fully booked to March 2012, just thought a few here might be interested in what's in at the moment)
Anyway - 512BB (in the very best colour scheme IMHO!), Maserati Quattroporte, 308GTB, 250GTE, Bentley T2, & (VERY rusty) Austin Nash Metropolitan (on rottiserie!!!!!) & out of shot a GTA step front replica.

I'd love to work on the machinery in that workshop! Are there any more pictures of the 512BB?
About the spray booth comments, I don't have a booth due to cost and space constraints and I'm sure my workshop is a lot more dirty and dusty than that one and I still manage to get a decent finish, it's just about taking a bit of effort to make the area as clean as possible and putting a bit more effort in post painting.

Nice to see you are so busy, did you put an oven in or are you still air drying ?
Ovens are agreat help for volume, but then again I`ve seen coach painters working with their bespoke brushes,an art form nobody seems interested in anymore. One truck firm I remember had just the one bodyman doing all the repairs, signwriting and coachpainting. He had a booth but preferred not to use it, using instead decorators drop sheets soaked with water hanging from the workshop ceiling, to keep the dirt down.He then had fashioned cuttle fish bones for rubbing down pads, dollies made from old components, hand made hammers, flippers made from old files and truck springs. The trucks always looked immaculate.A sad day when he retired as he was not replaced, the bodywork was out sourced. As a young apprentice he painted my triumph T90 for me one time, it looked stunning.Tekaloid were the paint supplier I believe. Keep up the good work Alsa.
I wasnt trying to be argumentative regarding the booth/oven, als contributions are allways welcome on here, it seems that their is not a space issue regarding a booth, also the work being done is top notch and should be charged out at a decent rate.
I have had customers who wont leave their car with me because it is not being painted in a oven (rare but does happen) doing that sort of work and being booked up with work so far ahead would make it a no brainer,,, all IMHO of course.
I rent my workshop, so spending money on a booth is a non starter, but having worked in many over the years i know where i would rather be especially in this weather.

Not sure if that's especially true. I know Al is a big fan of the 400 series, and secretly lusts after a Mondial or a Dino! Personally the nicest ferrari is obviously any of the 250 series, SWB or although only a Ferrari sort of) I like the 250 breadvan and would never turn down a 612 in Blu Tdf metallic with cream leather......:-)
