http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1973-ROVER-3-5-LITRE-V8-P5B-...

This popped up near me so I went to have a look at it today... very tempting. I've not researched these cars before and have no idea what they go for... is the current price just jokers chancing the no reserve or is it anywhere near what it ought to end at?

I would imagine it will sell for £4000 - £9000. I only skim read the advert but I wouldn't imagine a p5 going for more/less.

ETA: £1000 tops - looks like it might need a lot of work, seller doesn't mention any work required and only to see it yourself.

If you can get this fixed up and smart for a few grand then it is worth it IMO, I love the p5

Interesting. It really wasnt too bad. Paintwork is obviously dead, but the panelwork didnt seem too bad at all, even the lower sections only having a little rust in the most vulnerable spots - rear valance etc.

Engine sounded sweet as a nut. Running pretty rich. Interior is a bit of a mess but mostly a cleaning job, didnt see any actual ripped leather.

Itd make a more interesting shed runaround than my current renault.. and its a timing chain rather than an overdue cambelt smile mpg and everything else breaking would make up for it im sure

Tempting isn't it? Worth a grand of anyone's money but not much more.

'Gently' on Sundays has rekindled my interest for these and with a ticket so you can treat it as a rolling restoration!!!!

Unless you can do most of the work yourself it's not worth buying IMHO.

Looks like it will need a serious amount of work and it would make sense to spend more on a better example.

Is this the one parked on the verge a mile or two from the Bath and West Showground with a big for sale sign in the window? If not there could be two in the area for sale.

It was parked just by the hand car wash so could well have been - although I understand this car was one of two from a deceased estate - the other reportedly in better condition.

Someones picked up a nice smoker there for that money..
