Evening all. My steering wheel is losing the colour from its leather. I think it needs reconnolising. Any idea...

(1) How much it would cost?
(2) Whether reupholstering it is a better idea?
(3) How much both reconnolising and reupholstering respectively would cost?

Merci beaucoup!

I have used scuffmaster to very good effect. Not sure how durable it would be for re-touching a steering wheel though, a re-trim might be for the best. But this would be worth trying first as it is pretty cheap. It is supplied in a small bottle with a fine sponge, you just dab it on in very small patches rapid fire, let it dry, and then re-coat a few times.

Wow! That's some difference there. Looks just like what I am after. In some ways I'd prefer to do the work myself (even if I am a bit cackhanded, I like to learn). Thanks BG and no hard feelings, I hope, from the other thread. There are none from me. Thanks a lot for your help and advice.

You're welcome James.

And that other thread didn't even come close to a fall out smile

I've ordered the Scuffmaster kit. Bit nervous about it but I'm gonna try it. Will try to post some before and after pics. Hope it ends up like yours.

If so make sure you've got rid of all the excess, I didnt when I did the seat bolsters on mine, Mrs Scotal was not impressed with the marks the stuff left on her white top
