A perfectly original 1982 4-door in a stunningly period beige colour. 80k miles from new with a monster service history, every single old MOT and never had a welding torch or spray gun near it. Could do with a little light cosmetic fettling to make absolutely immaculate but, having been looking for one of these on and off for 4 years, I'm absolutely thrilled with it!!

£1,900 - which feels cheap, although there are so few around, its hard to benchmark

Fantastic. More and more of these are appearing back in London. Great cars with none of the modern stigma.

Congrats on buying a superb car. I bought a 3.9 about 3 years ago much to the disapproval of my OH. I sold it 18 months later and she was gutted to see it to go.

No - from a landscape gardener in Northamptonshire; I didn't know there was one for sale in SW20, which is a shame as its just down the road from me!

I know the feeling - I got it home the other night & got Mrs C to come out and look at it. She took one glance and turned back up the path saying "I don't want that parked anywhere near the house"

Fantastic! I've always liked these, and was further convinced by the article in Octane a few months back.

I'm in Bahrain at the moment and looking to buy one. Luckily petrol prices are not a worry here but finding one that hasn't been melted by the sun is proving a little tricky...

It wasn't for sale as far as I know but it was the same colour, year and with low mileage so considering you're close I thought it was too much of a coincidence.
My old man has had his for 18 years, can't find anything that comes close for him.

Arrange a weekend away or trip in it and she'll come round. Certainly worked a treat with mine. Once we'd sold it, I bought a jeep cherokee which she really hated. Come to think of it so did I

I've had a 1988 Classic for 9 years. Don't know how may miles it's done as so many have been clocked but It's a great practical runaround. Eventually need to spend some money on tidying it up - but they are a great car, even better in the snow - what a sense of superiority!!

I've been on the lookout for an old Rangie for a while but the vast majority I've seen have been basket cases more or less, they like to rust don't they?

I bought a 1993 LSE Overfinch Range Rover with a 5.7 chevy engine conversion (330bhp and 12mpg) that was only two years old a good few years back. Black with Sable Leather. Biggest and I mean biggest money pit I have ever owned. Shocks every year. Pads every 10K miles, Discs every 20K miles, Gearbox expired after 6 months, £3500 to get a 6 month warranty, Exhaust headers £1000, Hassles with self leveling, central locking and alarm. Should have bought the F150 lightning pick up truck that I wanted in the first place but at the time I thought I could not afford the £10K extra. The lightnng costs nothing to run in comparison (18mpg). Whilst following a good mate in an F150 lightning with a trailer on the back carrying a brand new Porsche Boxter S we where stopped by the police as we where joining the M1 north from the M25. They wher picking up a few bits from a Honda Civic that had spun out. When we where released Mark in the truck nailed it and just left me for dust in the Overfinch. I'm on my third Lightning now smile. Good luck with it and I hope you have a far more pleasurable experience of Range Rover ownership than I did.

Did you formerly have a green RR classic by any chance? Only that the nice green one a parked couple of streets over from me (in SW16) has recently disappeared, and been replaced by a beige four door...

Presumably you live in Brancaster Road/Moorcroft Rd/Mount Ephriam Lane?

I'm in Wiltshire technically, but my fiancée's flat is on the High Road and I have to park around those side roads. If you've ever noticed the old Bristol left next to you from time to time that's me smile Always admired your green machine, haven't looked at the new one yet, but noticed it had changed when I drove past the other day.
