POR-15 question.............
Discussion
I am going to be using this stuff on my Fairthorpe chassis which still has a fair amount of paint in some areas and plenty of rust in others. I`m planning to get it shot blasted, will i still need to use their `metal ready` before putting the rust preventative coating and topcoat? Anyone had any experiance with this?.........Martin
try contacting Pher Esprit, he's used POR15 extensively on his exige rebuild:

I've only used it once, and I followed the instructions to clean it back to shiny metal, then degrease, apply Metal Ready, wash and then paint. The Metal Ready made almost no difference to the shiny metal, but where there were specs of rust it turned them black (Iron Phosphate I think). I think this is physically tougher and prevents any existing damp rust from spreading.
It all seems to have worked OK, but I can't help thinking the amount of faffing around is at odds with the brand name, which implies it can slapped straight on over rust.

I think your Q has been answered above but on another note.......just don't get it on ya skin
I read the label and then thought yeah yeah, it'll be fine to clean off with some terps afterwards. Not a chance, had me rubbing me skin red trying to get it off, mainly around me wrists (gap between gloves and sleeves )
Its good stuff though, recomended
