So finally thought I'd get some pics up on here. It started out as a scruffy little mgb (looked nicer in photos) until I descided to be brave and start cutting bits.
The plan now is for a super light hillclimb/track sebring mgb v8, modsport style.
The body is nearly all fibreglass and it will run a rover v8, sd1 box with a jag sld.
I am currently modifying the front end to bring the wheels out into the arches to fit in with the rear end, then the engine and box can go in!
Take a look and let me know your thoughts. Don't worry about telling me I'm mad, I get it from the family enough, lol.

Good luck! Would it be churlish of me to point out that in swapping to the Jag rear suspension you've created a car that will only be allowed to compete in Sports Libre?

Google Nic Mann/Mannic Turbo and Mike Endean/Gould Puma...

Love Sebring arches on Bs, though. look fantastic.

I googled those nic mann cars,... now that guy is crazy. I like his morris too, there's one that looks similar that gets up gurston, but thibk its got a cosworth in it.

And with regards to the tvr wedge comment, yes nice car and you are right, but I like to be different and build stuff myself, thats not to say I might buy a wedge soon if I see one at the right price lol, but a race prepped one would be abit over my budget methinks.

This really spooky, when I saw your car I thought it was an old friend of mines thread. Phil attacked a Black tulip GT a few years back, did the sebring arch thing, added a Rover V8. He now hillclimbs it at Gurston Down

I'm sure it will become a nice car. I owned a similar car a couple of years ago. The MGB / MGC GT really looks
fantastic with the Sebring wheel arches.
I add some pictures which might be helpful to see what the finished product may look like ...

That's lovely Koen, to be honest I think all MGB's should of left the factory looking like that.

Hi keon, that sebring is rather pretty. I think I found some pictures of that car on the web when I was scanning for information.

And I have to agree with healy73 about leaving the factory in this form. Only downside would be my car wouldn't be so individual!

Its a 3.5 sd1 engine on carbs thats going in. Its fairly standard at the mo. The plan is to get the car all in one piece then spend some money on the engine when its a running project. I'd like to get a holly carb on an offenhauser manifold etc, and apparently porting the heads is the best thing to do value for money/power wise on these v8's.

Hi there,

I used to run a rallycorss MGBGT V8 in the late 70s which we built ourselves. MGBGT shell, jaguar rear suspension with LSD, rover V8 engine carbs initially, then fuel injection, jaguar gearbox (before SD1 boxes freely available). Chopped of front chasis rails/suspension and welded triumph vitesse chassis rails, front suspension. Perfect fit for rover V8 engine mounting. Have pictures of build if you are interested. Okd photos, not digital. I am in Warfield, near Bracknel. Drop me an email if this is of any interest. richardatstokdorcodotuk.

Good luck

Fot those of you that were interested here are a few more pics from the project so far from over the last year or so.
The last pic I did in photoshop, and its how I plan to paint it. I'm sure not everyone will like it but I tried loads of variations and I like this one the best, and its sort of patriotic with the red white and blue.
I was orignally going to do the b/r green with an orange valance as per factory race cars, but that was before I was going for the modsport look, so I thought it deserves something more elaborate now!smile

I have a light heavily modded midget - we run against BGT v8s and all sorts in the hillclimbs. They are huge fun and pretty quick - the championship has a good board if yu need specific info - I am sure if you find people doing what you want to do - they will help you out
