...and very nice it looks too.
thank youits been in our family since the late 1950's and was, at one time my grandads only car.
its very original and patined, and used all the time, it happily (if a little slowly) will do a couple of hundred miles in a weekend.
it was used right through the war by a guy who inspected munitions factorys, so clocked up over 400,000 miles, it was serviced right the way through, and the story is that he saved so much money from his expenses that when the war ended he sold this and bought a brand new bentley!
im too tall to drive it and cannot get behind the steering wheel. grrrr!
Very nice looking car and good to see it being used as a car and not an over polished trophy pot.
A few issues with cab's freezing! I tried to run my old Bayliss tover day and the bloody carb even froze up in the garage. I simply cannot use the car in cold weather, which is a real bummer.

the small print for my dads car would say 'this car has never been intentionally polished'
the last award he won at a local car show was 'muddiest car'
And yet it still looks fantastic, a lesson for us allthe small print for my dads car would say 'this car has never been intentionally polished'

I have to put a bit of polish on my car ocassionally just to keep what little paint it has on the metal

Very nice Riley but which model? Lynx? Gamecock?
Great to see it out in the snow!
its a nine trinityGreat to see it out in the snow!
from memory they only ever did 7 trinitys, this is (again from memory) the only original one left. there is another one, but its in name only, they guy who owns it has had to remake the body and fittings (using photos of ours), but i think its long way from getting finished.
its a 3 option hood on it, open four seater, open two seat (a solid cover slids over the rear seats, or a four seater with hood, a fairly complicated (and expensive i guess) body style.
thanks the interest, its a nice little car

Sounds like my Dad, he's got a Singer 9 Le Mans he bought in 1959 as a £25 banger. He still drives it regularly all year round and has gradually restored it as required, but it's far from concours!its very original and patined, and used all the time, it happily (if a little slowly) will do a couple of hundred miles in a weekend.

to make him feel a little better about the low of minus 16 (!!) on saturday night, my dad decided to go out in his riley 9 on sunday.
he had a few issues with the carbs freezing up, but it was a nice, dry clear day!
