Someone on another board* who should have been exhibiting reports that it's cancelled.

Check for yourselves, but I guess he knows what he's talking about.

Bristol Classic Car Show postponed this weekend

06 February 2009, Bristol: The longest-running UK classic car show, due to be held this weekend at the Royal Bath & West Show Ground, has been postponed because of the bad weather.

The decision was made by the Royal Agricultural Society, Bath & West Show Ground this morning, and organisers of The Footman James 30th Bristol Classic Car Show were informed soon after.

“We are bitterly disappointed,” says Nigel Stevens, founder of the car show.

“We were happy to muster through and had tremendous support to do so from the classic car owners, clubs and other exhibitors.

“However, the primary concern of any event remains the health and safety of visitors, and this atrocious weather throws up to many variables, including the process of getting to and from the venue.

“We will put all the relevant information on our event website (www.bccsl.co.uk), and refer all ticket-holders there for updates and details for the re-arranged show.

“And, of course, all prepaid tickets will still be valid for the re-arranged show,” he says.

“We are already looking at available dates when the weather improves, and will ensure out 30th anniversary show will still be biggest and best ever.

The auction of classic vehicles, which formed part of the overall show, has already been rescheduled for Monday (09 February). The doors will be open from 9am, with the auction of automobilia starting at 12.30am, followed by the vehicles at 2.30pm.
