Sunday, 26 April - DRIVE IT DAY® is the historic vehicle movement's annual
showcase event. It happens each year on the Sunday nearest 23 April, the
anniversary of the start of the 1,000 mile trial of 1900.

I wondered what's planned in the form of events, get togethers or drives out? So I thought I start a thread where we can list them all in one place. smile

Ahh, the FBHVC don't drive it day - the one day a year I make a special effort NOT to drive me car, on the grounds I drive it the other 364.

Chaps, I didn't intend this thread for you to bang on about how many miles you all do and to say that the FBHVC is a load of poo! If you do that it'll become difficult to read for anyone genuinely interested. Mind you, it's good to see it's following the traditional Pistonheads route of turning into a moan within 2 x posts! biglaugh

My suggestions include:

  • The TVRCC Chatsworth Gathering (for me a 340 mile round trip)
  • The Bucks/Berks AMOC area have arranged a treasure hunt/Sunday dinner at Sindlesham
  • But... I've also been planning to take the Aston on a tour to the Italian Lakes to see the Villa d-Est Concours, a drive of about 1,500 miles. biggrin

I always drive something on the day! . . and most of the 364 days of the year! it's a brilliant excuse for a massive get together in the local area and get out for a short tour.

would love to do italy, but le mans is as far as i'll get this year....

north - south spain > south france > north - central italy > switzerland > belgium would be my 3wk dream tour wink

I am in the UK that weekend for a special event and will be based in Winchester for the weekend or perhaps Chelmsford - not sure yet. I shall be in the old E type and would love to know what is going on in the two districts and perhaps to meet some of you. Please either post or email me please.

There's always the PH Sunday Service at Nissan HQ on that day. We're trying to get a few older 240Zs and Skylines, and I'm sure we could set aside an area for a special contingent of PH owned classics if someone wanted to organise something.

Let me know and I'll do as much as I can to help. With my Classic & Sports Car hat on I like to try and do as much as I can to support Drive it Day.

Are Tigers not allowed??! smile Love to do the trip, but take twice as long so that there's time just to relax and really absorb the surroundings and experience smile

Going out with a local car club for Drive It Day and ending up at Priddy (Somerset) in the afternoon.

Off in the vintage Bentley, so hope it doesn't rain!
