Looking for something a bit different and special but that can also be used for long drives no problems

Ideally from the 90's with 4 seats - any suggestions

From the early 90s, one of the last Audi ur-quattros, great engine note and big cabin. Would suggest a 635 (see profile), but too old and the back seats are pretty cramped.

ie, http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/445309.htm - yummy!

another idea: Saab 900 Turbo or convertable (or both). The last of the line are J-reg I think.

The ur quattro Production ended in 1990 with the 20V version only 295 sold in the UK. there are a few 91's around. This is a full four seater, that will cross continents with no aches or pains.

L-reg.

The last non-convertible 900's rolled off the line in March 1993.
Convertible prodution continued in Finland for another 6 months or so IIRC.

The likes of the Lotus-Carlton is already in 'classic' status, as is the Escort Cossie, and Integrale EVO's, Scooby P1 and 22B's etc.

Of the 'mundane' stuff the 900 as mentioned, especially in T16 form, as well as the now rare 9000 Aero's and the Volvo T5R's are definate candidates.
Clio Wiliiams perhaps too...?

Bit out of the blue, but Cavalier 4x4 Turbo (If you can find a non-chavved one).
I've had a couple now and they still drive well for the age and parts are readily avaliable through such forums like www.CavalierCrazy.co.uk and www.ctor.com

Still holding good money for a Cav too...

Guy I used to work with had the 4x4 version of the GSI, he used to call it the Vauxhall Babara Cartland because of the length of the badge. laugh

Maserati 3200 GT, loads of room in the back, and more boost lunacy than a box T16 Saabs or Audi Quattros!

Ok they only went on sale in 99 but that's still the 90's!
