Can anyone recommend an insurer who can help with classic insurance as per the title? the ones I've contacted so far collapse in a dribbling heap at the mention of 'laid-up' cover.

edit : bah, I only have off-road parking, no garage. I guess im doomed. ffs

Footman James used to do off road cover, but whether they still do and if the will without a garage I don't know.

When I let my insurance lapse on the Singer in August Footman James wrote to me offerring "laid up" cover (it lives on the drive, not in the garage and they know this).

Looks like ill be using Hagerty - laid up on the driveway.

Footman James have it on the conditions of insurance that the car has to be garaged so id be cautious of that.

Cheers all

I think you'll find that with most classic policies the vehicle has to be garaged to qualify.
