The Association of Healey Owners stand with the 3 1948 Mille Miglia cars -

and the Austin-Healey Club recreation of the Sprite launch in Monte Carlo in 1958

and a slightly modified midget (Rover V8, Sierra 4 wheel drive!)

Anyone else have photos?

It doesn't look as bad when you're there - perhaps I need a better camera, or spend ome time playing with the settings. I borrowed my daughters digital and have never spent any time learnign how to use it!

The lighting in the halls and on most stands was poor but it was a great show.

This is my camper on the Footman James stand:

Here's a few (quite a few) pics of my eclectic tastes - sorry for the 3 images of the Sunbeam Lotuses but that's why we were there and ultimately "we" (The ARCC) won "Best Large Club Stand" for our Celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the Rootes Competition Department. And yes the lighting is rubbish - a 3 day headache !!!

Trust me it wasn't your camera, the lighting was bloody awful especially considering the NEC is such a main-stream venue. In some of the halls it was really gloomy. For instance in Hall 3 the Sunbeam chaps had a fantastic pastiche of a Le Mans pit with Tigers and Alpines but the gloomy lighting simply did the display no favours. And the auto-jumble and trade stands were pretty well in the dark by 3:30 in the afternoon! Perhaps if some of the clubs complained to the organisers then they could bring pressure to bear on the NEC. frown

p.s. great show and will go again next year...

I think you guys ought to look at the camera settings. Tungsten lighting give a terrible cast on the photo. In the menu there are usually various settings for the white balance to overcome this problem, outdoors or in. That E type has been doing the circuit for some years now and I would doubt has done more than a few miles in all that time. Sad really - it was made to be driven. Trailer and show queens just aren't my thing at all.

I wasn't at the show, as like lowdrag I only want to see cars being used for their purpose.
But although I can see quite a lot of local tungsten around the stands with the red carpets, I bet that the main hall lighting is probably some kind of High-Intensity Discharge (Metal-Halide, Mercury or maybe High Pressure Sodium). So with a mix of various colour temperature lighting sources (inluding a little daylight) it's most unlikely that any camera setting in the menu will achieve correct looking colours.
Look at miniman's image of the Escort; the top left of frame has a lot of magenta in it (where there has been an over-correction of a predominently green light source at some stage in the image production) yet the (vertical) front of the car has a lot of blue in it (some daylight influence or flash?).
You can only correct for one light source at a time and even then any areas that are shadowed will take on the cast of the correction.
