I am contemplating putting My Escort Harrier up for sale ..... i haven't seen any trade for ages anywhere ... if i said it was 38k 9/10 car with every bit of history going back to 1981 what do you think that should fetch in the current climate ...

Any ideas ? i still have the bill of sale original tyres etc etc

..About the same as last time you asked, I'd reckon.

They arent in demand so much, just rare - I'd say for a mint standard one upto £10-12k but more likely around £8k.

Probably rarer than the Mk 2 Mexico and RS2000 by now. I would have thought £5K region. It was really a dressed up 1600 Sport with RS wheels and some other nice additions but any decent Mark 2 with two doors and a solid shell is good news financially.

...To be honest, I hosted these pictures for you in your last thread here about 18 months ago. I didnt want your old thread to mess up so kept them on my account - good that they've come to good use again!

I've owned 3 Mk2 Escorts (sold my last 3 years ago, I think), and deep down would like another but it probably wont happen for a while if at all. They're a good laugh and I love their looks.

There's so many cars out there I'd like to own so really I should experience some other things before I get another.

that looks lovely. i really like mk2 escorts but refuse to pay the prices for them. i had one as my second car for £200 so £5k seems wrong.

Harrier was just a 1600 sport so it has no huge value unlike an RS but a mint shell it worth a lot and for somoene who fancies a mint RS2000 butcant afford the going rate (£6k to £10k) then a Harrier at £5k maybe bit more might sell... depends how much its worth to you to keep, it not going to go down in value if you can keep the rust away

true, but the harrier is rarer than the rs2000, but was a sales success, the mk2 mexico is rarer than both, i think 800 or so produced and was a sales failure, if the harrier was in strato silver it would be worth nearer £7-8k, its just hard to beleive the value of these now, mk2 rs 2000s especially, but i would settle for the harrier, but id pay near the same for a mint 77 1600 sport in calypso green with matching cadiz interior, it the colour that denotes value a lot as well as condition.
