Any E type Jaguar experts? Koni rear shocks.

Ahem...bit of a cheek given I know full well there are some E type experts around!

The top bolts that came out with the standard shocks were 7/16 unf.

Parts book lists UFB 143/16R which correspdonds to a 7/16 UNF by 2 inch long bolt.

The holes in the tops of the Koni's are 5/8ths! Same as the bottom holes.

What am I supposed to do? Drill bigger holes in the sub frame and use bigger bolts?

I think you have the shocks from a later 4.2 or V12 rather than a 3.8 .
I seem to rember having a simular problem when I did mine.

I thought all the shock mounting holes were 5/8 and they are then bushed down to 7/16. That's what I have on my E type rear end although it isn't on an E type any more.
