Yes it is a Sonnet II owned by a guy who can be found on www.uksaabs.co.uk

As TfatC said it's a Saab Sonett, this particular car is fitted with a 2 Stroke engine 841cc and is a little honey. Imported from Switzerland couple of years ago, we followed it all the way fron Esbjerg, Denmark and onwards up to Trollhattan Sweden last year.
The Sonett was Saab foray into 2 seater sports cars starting with the Sonett Sport (known as Sonett 1 only 6 examples were built)this car has been seen at Goodwood FOS a few times and driven by Eric Carlsson. This original version was designed more as an experiment and race car.
They then designed and built the Sonett II (which this pic is an example of), this version was used quite a few times in Rallying.
The next variation was the Sonett V4 (using the same body style but with the Ford V4 engine fitted).
Both variants have column gear change and were based on a shortened floor pan of the Saab 96.
They then remodelled the car into the Sonett III, which had pop up headlights, opening rear hatch (all be it small), floor gear change. Still fitted with the V4 engine.
The cars were built at the ASJ company in Arlov Sweden.
This of course is a shortened history of the Sonett.
OK Anorak off now, the weather's to hot
