my dads bought and sold a few with the chaps (ian and ray) here, they are very well respected in the buying and selling market for the honesty of description and quantity of cars (both running and projects) that they have. i think they are the first port of call for most people when looking for rr + bentley of a certain age and price range!
at worse case they will give your man a rough valuation of what the car is worth - particually if its a non running project.
at best they will buy it or know someone who will want it.
my dad bought a non running wraith of them years ago - its still a non runner!
(this is if its a prewar jobbie)
if its a post war job id give flying spares a shout - they seem to break a lot of 60's and 70's stuff as there is more money in the parts, i suppose it depends how bad it is, the prices of tired shadows and stuff means that theres plenty of project cars about.

I went to see a MKVI at the Real Car Co many years ago, and I should have bought it, instead of the one I did buy. I was nearly sidetracked into buying a really nice original S1 instead. The solid blue paint was beautifully patinated, faded and crazed, but the car was essentially sound. This was quite a long time ago, the two guys that ran it were really nice.
