Anyone else planning on heading to the Thames Valley Classic and Sports car day at Hambleden Village near Marlow and Henley on Sunday?
It's normally a great day with loads of good cars.

It's organised by the JEC but lots of other clubs come along.

It's organised by the Thames Valley JEC, there is a bucket collection on exit in aid of the Air Ambulance.

Details on the www.jag.org.uk are very limited! Which is silly I'll give them some grief when I get there.

The TVR club has a much better webpage
http://www.tvrchim.co.uk/event.html

So location
The Stag & Huntsman & Hambleden Sports Ground
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=51.57235,-0.86859&ie=UTF8&ll=51.572375,-0.868607&spn=0.042037,0.095959&t=h&z=14&iwloc=addr
I've put the marker in the pub car park, the show is really in the field at the back of the car park.

Times 11:30 till about 3

I'll be bringing both my Jags.

http://www.tvrchim.co.uk is NOT the TVR club site, it is my friends site about HIS TVR, he just decided to do a page for this event on his site, to help raise more funds for the air ambulance (donations on exit).

We are expecting quite a turnout this year. Especially in terms of the TVR's

OK so I'm a complete idiot.
Things turned into a total rush this morning sorting out the brake light switch and a rear hub on the 150 and getting the X300 clean and I managed to shoot off an forget my Cameras!

Argh.

A great day though

But sorry the quality isn't great on this lot, it was shot on my phone.

An early Ford, makes my car look new

The JEC's raffle prize this year. You could win this car, in aid of Leukaemia research

I know this one is a Mk8, I promise Lowdrag I've got it the right way round today, the Mk 9 is coming up later.

67 StingRay, very very nice I follow this all the way from Wargrave this morning

My toy, an 1958 XK150 FHC, an early one.

An early X300 XJR, this was the launch colour, I nearly bought one this colour but decided in the end that we weren't too sure how well the colour would age. I still think they look great though.

This was one lovely S-Type, I think this would be my pick of the day, expect I'd prefer a manual. Stunning

3 1/2L SS

Mk2

Another S-Type

XK140 DHC

3 Teals in a row, sorry about the crap quality of the shots I only had my phone.

I've never seen one of these as a convertible before, I didn't even know that NSU had sone a convertible version.

A very nice Series I XJ6, I had a good chat with the owner, he's had it for over 30years. It's never need any welding!

E-Type, sorry I can't tell you which one, it's a FHC, and it's not a Series 1 or Series III, couldn't say if it's a Series 1.5 or 2.

Mk2

A 50s Lagonda, I should know more about it since I know who the owner is, but I can't remember the model.

XK150S DHC

Which was sitting next to this rather nice 100/6

A little MG and a gorgeous Alvis.

I think this is an AC, but might well be wrong.

An earlier E

XK140 DHC

?? An Austin 7 ??

Back to the XK140 DHC

MGA

TR6

OK, this one is a Mk9

A Stag, I think this was the only one I managed to picture, I think there are another one there too, earlier in the day.

Daimler Dart, this one was parked next to my 150 last year.

Frog Eye

Cadillac, from the quick glance the kids let me grasp I's thought it had said "Berkshire" by Cadillac, but I could be mistaken. Anything west of Bristol tends to confuse me biggrin This thing was huge.

The Ford again.

Another picture of the Stag, you can never have too many pictures of Stags.

I was intrigued by this Lotus shooting break.

?

The Caddy again

Triumph TR ?3

MGA & Series I E-Type

Convertible Singer, this was rather nice and must be much rarer now than most exotics of it's day.

Alfa Romeo V8 ???

Lancia Zagato

Alfa ?

XK140DHC

MGA

TR6

Back to the Alvis

Morgan 3 wheeler

C-Type replica

That's the lot.

Sorry I didn't get all the cars. I didn't start trying to take any pictures till later in the day when a lot of the cars had already started to make a move.
I missed picturing the Lamborghini Miura complete with the cute eye lashes.
An Armstrong Sydley something.
And loads of other good stuff all told they reckon they had 298 cars.

Looks like it was a top day, pity I couldn't make it. Some very nice cars there, although not all the pictures were working for me. I have to say I never knew there was such thing as an RO80 cabriolet!!

nice snaps, some smashing metal there for sure

the Jags look great, but those 3 Italians take some beating IMO, espcially the Alfa Montreal and the Lancia Zag smokin

Dinkel really needs to check these!

Should be the same weekend

2nd Sunday in May

Apparently it's been going for 20 years. This was my third year.
There was a lot of new metal as well as classics.
A big showing from TVR and Lotus.
Quite a lot of Morgans. My phone was complaining about memory so I didn't take as many pictures as I would have liked. I would rather have had my CAMERA ... Argh paperbag Hopefully I can buy a better one by next year, I want a D300 biggrin but then again, I'm sure the XK would like something else by then too... oh well.

Great photos. I popped along with my 4 year old daughter, unfortunately she only lasted half an hour before demanding to go home! Still, get them interested young I say!!
Some great cars on display, I'll definitely be back next year, maybe a 5 year old will have more patience?

Damn and buggrit, I knew there was something I was going to do at the weekend....

Great looking turnout, a lovely eclectic mix.

The badge on the 289 looks like Hawk`s, manufacturers of gorgous and quite exact replicas of the 289 Cobra.

Cadillac is a 1960 Sedan DeVille with styling toned-down from the excessive heights of the `59 model...

Nice to see the convertible Ro80. Never an option from NSU, but I believe any locally would have been converted by the late Simon Kremer, founder of Grazeley based rotary specialist Rotechniks. I recall his uni project was the building the prototype, an involved job that includes shortening the wheelbase and converting to two-door. No idea how many he/they built though. Maybe that is the original car but Simon`s was red last time I saw it.

Sorry I didn't picture the TVRs. There is always a great turn out from the TVR crowd. Lots of beautiful noises. No earlier TVRs a couple of Wedges was as far back as things seemed to go. None of the pre Peter Wheeler cars.

Thanks for the IDs on the other cars. Particularly on the open top Ro80, it didn't have any badges and there was no obvious own lurking about to answer questions.

I'll update the scribbling under the pictures later.

Don`t apologise: it`s all good stuff!

I stumbled on a perfect, and perfectly clean, XJR in that greeny/blue hue in my neck-of-the-woods at the weekend - I`d be surprised if they weren`t one and the same. It has desire written all over it....

That Elan shooting break was featured in Classic and Sportscar (I think) a few issues back. Very professionally built by marque specialist to the owner`s desires. It was mentioned here on PH afterwards too.

Must get out more..

Thanks for those pictures. You'd got some of the cars I'd particularly been miffed at missing like the Miura and the while XK140 DHC with the Goodwood noise stickers on the screen. apparently the marroon XK next to is is used to tow an old caravan. I didn't get to talk to either owner apart from very briefly as they were driving in.

I was up for it being a jec member but the solent was too calm and inviting to turn down and I was out voted on the day, besides, only 2 seats to fit 4.
