Q to fellow yesterday heroes readers;

How old does a car need to be to fit this section?

I had in mond the following?

Elan Plus 2

TVR Taimar Turbo

Jensen Heally

are these old enough to ask about in this section?

Brilliant, welcome aboard.
Loved my Dolomites, although I think my 1850 might have been faster than my Sprint.

Is an Alfa 75 too new for here?

Oldest car I have at the moment - but I've had a 124 Spider and an '81 Golf Cabrio in the past.

I would have thought that anything no longer in production would qualify, however a MKV1 Escort 1.3L may be derided whilst an RS2000 of the same ilk would receive adulation, at the moment, a MK escort 1.1L as a minter would receive a similar response to a Mex or RS of the era........ time breeds nostalgia and tolerance of mediocrity !!

All the cars mentioned would be welcomed including the Alfa (drool if its a V6 smile )

Not a V6, I'm afraid.

I prefer the bulletproof and maintenance free TSpark for track use.

it has to be said that the Twin Spark is the tidier handler, in the real world its probably quicker point to point than the V6, but the sound of an Alfa bent six has to be one of the, if not the best sounds to be found under any bonnet IMHO......P.S. Nice car BTW

Mine wasn't.
Mk1 wifey decided to race the area car with it one night, off the line. Stopped accelerating when she reached the speed limit. Almost collected the jam sandwich in the boot. They then followed us all the way home, till they realised who we were. Gave us a hard time when they came in the bar a few nights later. Wanted to know why we'd left their 3.5L SD1.
