Just a note to warn you that as from July 1st it is now compulsory to not only carry a warning triangle but also a reflective jacket in the car. 90 euro fine if you don't have it.

queery

does this apply for Modern cars or for all cars ??

example I have a 1963 car that until recently did not have seatbelts fitted as standard , I was told I did need warning triangle / reflective vest erc due to the age of the vehicle .

Any car registered in the UK before 1/1/65 does not need a seat belt unless originally fitted (at owners request at the time for example). ALL cars will need a triangle and reflective jacket irrespective of age. Hope this clarifies things.

Do you need one vest per vehicle occupant, or just one for the driver?

There are so many reflective jackets being worn by just about everyone these days I think I'd be far more noticable in a dark overcoat !

Not quite sure there but the RAC site is not up to date - they don't mention that a triangle and vest are required but then they aren't until July 1st. They aren't dear so I'd suggest one each to be safe.
