I like that paperbag Doesn't look to be too much of a heap, and sure it doesnt have the engine but it still has those incredible looks.

Its in st order, with a Jaguar engine. So it will never have a numbers matching engine. What a new six cylinder Aston engine will cost is anyone's guess. Then it probably needs restored from the ground up, and that is something else that will cost basically the earth. Much as I like them, I really can't see the sense in DB4's & 5's at £250k a pop, and there sure isn't a market for DBS's at that level.

So what you have is something you can look flash in at the pub once or twice, will depress you every time you sit in it, and slowly disappear in a pile of corroded components.

Sounds like £8000 quids worth.

Very true.

Having said that you could probably get a nice old Roller for that sort of money which wouldn't be quite as bad.

You could probably buy a very nice Jaguar Mk10, a reasonable S-Type or a not so good Mk2. Funny how things change.

Why is it a bargain - its got a foreign engine which always reduce value. At Auction you could probably buy a correct car for 12k & this one would´nt be even worth 8k to a purist.

Have you tried driving one? Experience the original build quality. Taste is a funny thing.

Old Shadows are definitely on the up, having escaped the council estates and wedding hire trade many years ago. Retro cool, even the seventies colours which were considered naff at one time, Caribbean blue with beige everflex vinyl roof? cool

I'm afraid cheap Rollers will always be assocoiated with 1960's pools winners in my mind. Sorry they may be wonderful but in my eyes are totally lacking in style.

There's something so snidely cool about using a classic luxury car as a snotter.
