A good friend to have

There's an article in Classic and Sportscar this month comparing the 246GT Dino and the 365 GT4 BB. The Dino was given to the current owner by a family friend on the basis that he (the previous owner) wasn't driving it enough and the new owner would enjoy it ! Now that's a friend we'd all like to have.

On a similar theme a friend of my Dad's went to look at a late 1920's Sunbeam motorbike in the seventies. His wife gave him hell so he said that whatever he paid for the bike she could have the same to spend on clothes. When he turned up the old fella selling the bike was so pleased to see someone young(ish), he gave him the bike!

Anyway, when he gave up old biking a couple of years ago, he searched and found the son of the old man who'd given him the bike and gave the bike back to him (now worth a considerable amount more money than a dress!!). That would've been a nice suprise!
