Scuttle vents

I know this is a very long shot but nothing ventured and all that.

I am searching for a pair of 'ships funnel' scuttle vents to fit my Austin Swallow saloon of 1931 vintage. I understand that these were an optional extra at time of production but changed to a standard item during the same year my car was manufactured. Also I have written to the 'Swallow' Register and Le Richie requesting thier help in my search.

I have pondered the wisdom of fitting these to my car and decided that in view of the aforementioned it will not detract from the cars originality.

Mandrel Bends (Exhaust bend parts) are available from Demon Tweeks or the manufacturers Custom Chrome in Nuneaton. You will be able to adapt these.

I suggest you contact Tony O'Keeffe at the JDHT. Since they have a few Swallows they could probably help you source them. Best of luck.

Thank you I will be contacting him. Le Riche could'nt help directly but have suggested VHL the people who renovate headlamp shells. Le Riche did say that the scuttle vents are the most difficult items to find!
