Discussion
need some help...
my 2nd cousin has an '69 "G" alfa romeo spider special in his garage & im desperate to find out some info on it as he was not there to fill me in.
My Phone battery is flat so I cant post up pictures till tommorow.
Ill descibe it,
red, 4 wheels...I think its called a boat tail (realy smooth rear end)...
has a t-bar between the passenger side & driver (with a tonneu over the passenger's space)
What looked like knock-on speedlnes?..But could have had nuts- I could not get down to see
Had a bubble screen & a roll-bar akin to jag d-types
guted I cant post the pictures until I get to work
Im really kean to find out about it, so if anyone knows about these, please... do tell!

Wow fascinating looking car that.
It looks like a quite heavily modified Spider series one Duetto. It's quite likely it was RHD as they were factory made, it was only the later versions that were all LHD.
A 'normal' Duetto would have an Alfa 'Nord' twincam engine, either a 1.3, 1.6 or a 1750. It would be interesting to see what this one has and what state of tune it is.
I will put a link on the Alfa Owners club forum and we will see what comes up I wouldn't be suprised if somebody recognises it from days gone by.
Any chance of getting it out of the garage for some better shots, plus a few details like chassis numbers engine numbers and markings etc.
thanks for sharing it with us..(:

Dave hood, alias 'Batman' over on the Owners Club site remembers the car from back in the eighties. This was his responce, I presume he is referring to the guy who built and ran the car back then.
'That lovely old Italian guy Jim B--- Cant quite remember his name, that used to work for Lord Brockett way back in the eighties, before the early nineties big crash, when the sh*t hit the fan big time regarding classic car prices'..
mention of lord Brocket is a bit of a worry though!!!
