Can anyone tell me what car this is?
Discussion
I've already posted this in General Gassing, but they're rubbish, so I'm hoping one of you people may be able to tell me what this is.
It was on the back of a trailer looking very sorry for itself at The Bulls Head in Meriden.
It looks like a Jaguar and a Morgan got together and made a baby!!!
Even Trackside doesn't know what it is, and he knows everything

I'm fairly certain it is an Abbott but frustratingly my computer can't open the site I'm searching. Perhaps someone can Google it and manage to open the site. Abbot were famous for their yellow cars.
I agree, looks very Abbott although I think I have onyl ever seen a couple, I looked on 1950's spcecials but Abbott not listed.Needs further investigation.
AFAIK Abbott didn't build any cars - just bodies on other peoples chassis (Bentley, Healey etc). You may prove me wrong tho!
It looks like either a microcar (which everybody and his dog had a go at in the 50s, some companies only making half a doz) or a kit to go on and Austin 7, Ford sidevalve etc (which everybody and his dog also did in the 50s....)
So far I can't find anything to tell you what it is though!

I cross posted to another board here -http://www.britishcarforum.com/bcforum/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/322616/page/1#Post322616
- the British Car forum, in the US - you may think What do the Americans know about British cars, the ones on that boards know quite a lot, BUT, not enough to recognise this car!

I was just interested what it was because I'm able to at least name the maker of older cars, if not the model. This one was a real curiosity
