Just caught about 15 minutes of an old episode of the above this morning and Ironside and his man are in London on a case.
The DCI in charge has a Rover 3500S and they are screaming round the capital in grand style.
But I noticed that this one had three vents built into the bonnet for extra cooling and I am sure it is either the same, or a similar car I drove then that the MET had in those days.
It had a Shorrocks blower fitted and was utterly mental!! Hence the extra cooling required.
It ate gearboxes however, as this was the manual car's weakest point even without supercharging.
The engine however was totally reliable.
Happy days indeed.

I think that bonnet with the 3 vents was the US spec one?The DCI in charge has a Rover 3500S and they are screaming round the capital in grand style.

Interesting point though: some of the areas in the States are so hot that British cooling systems are just not up to the job.
