I started this in the "Yank Motors" thread but now realise that it was probably an inappropriate place.
Here is my order for American Royalty of the 30's do you agree?

(1) Duesenberg
(2) Pierce-Arrow
(3) Cadillac
(4) Packard
(5) Auburn
(6) Cord

Ah..Stutz - I loved the "Bearcat" - what a name & what a car. Were they still at their peak in the'30's?

Hmm.. Springfield Rolls - beautiful & glamourous - definitely "Gatsbyesque" but I think we should stick to "All-American." Yes they were totally built in the U.S. - but I'm thinking of brands originating stateside.

I realise I omitted another beauty - Marmon. The Marmon sixteen! Perhaps the order should be:

(1) Duesenberg
(2) Pierce-Arrow
(3) Marmon
(4) Cadillac
(5) Packard
(6) Auburn
(7) Cord

I forgot "Peerless!"
Should it be:

(1) Duesenberg
(2) Pierce-Arrow
(3) Marmon
(4) Peerless
(5) Cadillac
(6) Packard
(7) Stutz
(8) Auburn
(9) Cord

Perhaps we should shoot for an American "Top Ten" for 1910 - 1940.

If anyone is out San Francisco Bay area, you just have to visit the Blackhawk Museum to see the collection of this sort of stuff, amazing.

But, I'm afraid only 30's USA car for me would still be a '32 Ford 3W Coupe, chopped and channelled with a Hillbon injected Chrysler Hemi and entry to Speed Week at Bonneville......biggrin

Stutz Blackhawk

Volpi Cadillac . . .

. . . V16!

A bit overstated . . .

I like 'em simple.

I love that Stutz. It looks like a giant MG K3 Magnette!
